If you have ever visited our website our checked out our blog posts, you have probably noticed that we do not have black labels!
We create mostly white labels, clear labels as well as colored paper and plastic labels like red, orange, pink, green and blue, and even some white and clear labels with red and blue borders …but still no black.
Why?
Because you can create and print bold, black labels with any of these colors!
How?
It is really pretty simple, but there are a few tricks we have learned along the way.
- When designing your labels in your DYMO software DO NOT insert a black shape (that covers the entire label) with text on top of it as this will not print correctly.
- Instead it is very important that you set your text background to a shade slightly lighter than black and your text to white.
- Click on properties and this screen should appear:

This printing method is most commonly used with our #1020D, white BOPP 1.125 x 3.5″ labels for pricing. However, they can be used in just about any situation that requires a bold yet simple label.
